□ Samsung Display underscored the importance of its annual kick-off meeting by broadcasting New Year’s remarks from President & CEO Dong-hoon Lee, centering on how we can lead the global transformation into the Display of Things (DoT).
□ President Lee urged employees globally to firmly lay the groundwork for taking the world of displays into the future.

On January 2nd, Samsung Display held its first annual kick-off meeting to broadcast New Year’s remarks by President Lee to more than 23,000 employees worldwide.

President Lee answered many questions, which were collected from employees in advance, in addressing the greatest concerns of our employee body without the normal time constraints in which to respond.

“This year, 5G telecommunication, a core infrastructure of the 4th industrial revolution, will be commercialized, which will bring about a ‘sea change’ in industry and market landscapes and in the way we work,” President Lee said.

“Once IoT based on 5G becomes reality, there will be greater demand for the DoT, where consumers can experience a much more visual world connected by the Internet through displays,” he added.

President Lee urged that Samsung Display move well beyond the current frame and pace of forming the DoT, and more firmly lay the groundwork suitable for future markets by completely transforming how we think of work, how to solve communication problems, and how to work more visually wherever conceivable.

He encouraged employees by saying, “Let’s trust our potential and capabilities like never before, and move with greater strides towards a new future based on an organizational culture of innovation, communication and teamwork.”
